I’m Kate, a social worker, writer and former stay-at-home mom of three kids, ages 20, 19 and 14. My husband and I met at the University of Missouri School of Journalism, and we’ve been married 25 years, most of them good ones.  We live in Kansas City.

I was a working journalist for two decades but completed my master’s degree in social work in 2013. These days, I’m a licensed clinical social worker working as a psychotherapist.
